Women and men alike have opinions about everything under the sun. Our friends or spouses may jokingly tell us that no one cares what we think, but the truth is people do care!
Companies and organizations care so much, in fact, that many are willing to pay you for your opinion. A job from home taking surveys won’t make you rich, but you can make some extra cash to go towards bills or help you save up for that family vacation you want to go on. Typical payments for surveys range from $3-$10 though focus groups can pay up to $100 or more.
Why are they willing to pay for your opinions? It’s simple, really. Companies want their products and services to be successful. Often, companies will “test” a new product or service by selecting a group of people and asking them to answer a series of questions about the product. These, along with other market analyses, help them to determine which products are likely to succeed and which will be flops.
How does it work? When you sign up to take surveys, you are asked to complete a detailed profile. These profiles ask questions about everything from the number of people in your household, gender of your household members, your automobiles, income levels, types of stores you shop in and much more. Companies will request people of certain demographics (such as the ones mentioned) to evaluate their products and services.
If you are selected, you will likely be sent an email to be prescreened. This simply means that you are asked a couple of questions (sometimes which you are compensated for, but usually not) to determine if you are, indeed, within the demographic the company is targeting. If you are, you continue on to the survey opportunity. If not, you wait for the next opportunity to become available.
Because of the sporadic nature of surveys, it is not plausible to make survey taking a full time job from home. If you’re simply looking for a few extra dollars here and there, though, there’s no easier way to earn it than by offering your opinion.
